Koodo, Virgin and Fido offer $60 BYOP plans with 2GB of data [Update]

If you’re a free agent with an unlocked cellphone, today might be the day to cash in on an inexpensive plan.

Koodo and Virgin Mobile are both currently offering a $60 BYOP plan with 2GB of data, double the data usually allotted at that price. At Koodo the plan comes with 1000 nationwide minutes, while at Virgin, the plan comes with unlimited nationwide minutes. Both are available in most provinces excepting Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec.

One important thing to note is that Virgin’s plan expires by the end of the day, so if you’re interested – run, don’t walk. Koodo’s promotional plans don’t have an expiry date, but that doesn’t mean they won’t disappear soon as well, so a quick change is advisable.

While 2GB has become the standard allotment of data needed for one person to comfortably use within a month, Koodo and Virgin are also offering deals for the light data user.

Virgin is offering a $45 plan with 500 minutes and 1GB of data, while Koodo is offering $50 for the same.

You can take advantage of these deals even if you’re a current Koodo or Virgin subscriber, as long as you’re off-contract. Just call in and have them change your plan.

Update: Fido is also offering a limited-time $60 BYOP 2GB plan in every province apart from Quebec, Saskatchewan and Manitoba that features 1000 nationwide minutes.
