Google today announced the opening of a new YouTube creator space, giving the video platform’s Toronto-based content makers a new development incubator.

Google Canada says that the new space will offer “creators an opportunity to learn from industry experts, connect with fellow YouTubers in a collaborative setting and use the latest film equipment to create more ambitious and innovative video content.”

The location, located at George Brown College’s Centre for Arts, Design & Information Technology, offers workshops and programming at no cost to Canadian YouTubers looking to build out their channels.

The space will also be used to hold social events related to YouTube and give users a location to film content and get their hands on loaner production equipment such as cameras, lights and boom microphones.

Toronto joins a list of seven other cities with YouTube content creation spaces, including Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, New York, Sao Paulo, Berlin, Mumbai and Paris.
