HTC 10 will have ‘World First, World Class’ front and rear cameras

HTC’s next flagship, reportedly set to be called the HTC 10, is the follow-up to the One M9. The new device is expected to be officially announced next month but has already leaked on several occasions. Leaks uncovered last week revealed possible colour options. This week, though, the company is teasing the 10’s camera.

On Twitter, HTC shared a picture of the phone’s camera lenses and wrote, “World First, World Class, Front and Back.” The 10 is expected to feature a 12-megapixel rear camera. Rumours have pointed toward HTC using Sony’s IMX377 sensor, which is the same sensor found in the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.

We will have to wait and see what “world first” pertains to in this case. That said, hopefully whatever cameras the HTC 10 ships with are an upgrade over the 20.7MP back-facing camera found on the One M9 and the 4 megapixel UltraPixel front-camera found in the One M7 and One M8. Unfortunately, we haven’t heard a lot about the 10’s selfie shooter.

Otherwise, the HTC 10 will reportedly include a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4G of RAM, a 1440 x 2560 pixel display, USB type-C port and a 3,000mAh battery.
