Rogers doubling down on Huawei, plans to release the entry-level Y6

Lately, Rogers has been working more closely with Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei. The carrier is currently accepting reservations for the Nexus 6P, and now those interested in getting their hands on a more entry-level device can purchase the Huawei Y6.

According to a document MobileSyrup recently received, the Huawei Y6 is targeting price-conscious young adults who are looking for an affordable smartphone with low-end specs.

The Huawei Y6 features Android 5.1 Lollipop, a 5-inch 720×1280 display, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, 8-megapixel back camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,200 mAh battery.

This entry-level device will be available in the coming days in two variants, black or white. As for cost, the Huawei Y6 will be free on a 2-year contract, and $149.99 outright with Rogers and Fido.
