A new infographic is making the rounds today that reveals Apple has unofficially crossed the 500,000 app mark. App developers Chillingo, 148Apps and Chomp created the infographic that gathered tons of info since the launch of the App Store in July of 2008. They state there are currently 85,569 developers (average 4.6 apps per developer), 37% of the apps are free but the average price for paid apps is $3.64 (USD and May 2011 stats). Games category makes up the most downloaded apps with 15%, followed by Books with 14% and Entertainment with 11%. The best selling app is Angry Birds with a whopping 275 days at the #1 position… iFart comes in close at 12th spot with 3-weeks at #1.
