Pre-orders for Apple’s first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, open on Oct. 16 at 5 a.m. PT/8 a.m. ET ahead of a full launch on the 23rd.
If you haven’t already, you can pre-select your desired iPhone Duo configuration on Apple’s website ahead of time so you can get through checkout quicker once pre-orders go live.
And it might be a good idea to do so, given the various reports of supply issues suggesting stock could be limited at launch.
Anyway, the iPhone Duo boasts a ton of new features and capabilities beyond just the folding screen. Apple redesigned iOS to better work with the folding form factor and added new capabilities to take advantage of the hardware. That includes things like Smart Take, where the Duo can stand on its own and capture photos.
You can learn more about the iPhone Duo in our announcement post and in our hands-on with the device. Moreover, stay tuned for an in-depth review coming soon.
If you do decide to buy the iPhone Duo, it’ll cost you quite a lot. Prices start at $2,999 for the 256GB model and climb as high as $4,799 for the 2TB model. And don’t even get me started on the repair costs.
