Virgin Plus brings back $45 plan with less data

There are better options out there for this price point

Virgin Plus brings back $45 plan with less data

Roughly a week after axing its $45/20GB plan, Bell’s Virgin Plus has brought it back with less data than before.

As of Oct. 14, Virgin has a $45/mo 10GB plan, after a $10/mo autopay discount. Aside from the reduced data allotment, Virgin’s plan is largely the same as before, offering unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting, unlimited international texting (sent from Canada), and other standard features like call display and voicemail.

However, Virgin’s other plans remain unchanged. It still has the $50/60GB Canada-wide and $55/60GB CAN/US/MEX plans, as well as the $30/mo talk and text plan that got more expensive on Oct. 7.

Thankfully, other providers are still offering $45/20GB plans. Telus’ Koodo and Rogers’ Fido both have that plan, while Koodo also has a $40/10GB “kids plan.” But that could change — Canadian carriers tend to copy each other when one adjusts plans.

It’s also worth noting that some of the value wireless carriers continue to beat both Virgin Plus and others at this price range. There’s Freedom Mobile with $40/70GB and $45/125GB plans, or Public Mobile with its $40/70GB plan, or Fizz with a $35/100GB plan.
