Virgin petitions for Facebook “Love Button”… will give $25k to help out Japan

Virgin Mobile thinks the Facebook “Like” Button is not showing enough emotion. They have started a petition to change it and have come up with the “Virgin Love Button”. They state on the dedicated Love Button site that “We just don’t “Like” things. We Love them. So We’re petitioning Facebook to add a love button so you can share your love all over the place. Sign the petition to join our cause, and until Facebook add a love button, get the Virgin Love Button app to start loving things right now.”

Good PR for sure… but the best part of this initiative is noted way at the bottom of the page. Virgin is giving the first 500,000 things that are “loved” a $0.05 donation to help relief efforts in Japan ($25,000).
