Rogers releases the Samsung Galaxy Tab at $674.99 no-contract


Rogers is first out with the release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab. This tablet runs Android OS 2.2 and is available on the following price plans: Outright is $674.99; 1-year is $599.99; 2-year is $564.99 and the 3-year is $539.99.

The Galaxy Tab has a 7-inch TFT LCD display (with 1024 x 600 resolution) and is dubbed as the tablet that can play flash video as it comes with Adobe Flash Player 10.1, a 1GHz Hummingbird processor a 1.3 megapixel front-facing and camera and a rear 3 megapixel camera with flash. A big bonus for those who are going to go for the Tab versus the iPad is the weight: the Tab weighs in at 380 grams while the iPad it weighs 680 grams. Other important specs of the Tab are that it has WiFi, GPS, 16GB internal storage and can hold up to 32GB with a mircoSD card. Samsung specific features Samsung’s Music Hub plus Reader Hub gives you the ability to read and purchase books, magazine, newspapers.
