Bell Q3 2010 results brings subscriber base up to 7,125,266 (increase of 6.2%)


Bell has released the Q3 2010 results and there were records set all over the board when it comes to wireless – the main reason is due to “strong data growth and increased smartphone penetration”. Postpaid activations are up but prepaid is down 15% from last year (it’s not said but it could be due to the new competitors). Here are the complete breakdown of Q3 numbers:

– Total gross activations were 537,295 in Q3 (7.3% higher than last year).
– A record 368,155 Postpaid gross activations in Q3 (22.0% higher than last year)
– Prepaid gross activations were 169,141 (down 15% from last year).
– Total net additions were 137,880 in Q3 2010 (2.3% higher than last year)
– Postpaid net additions were 159,465 in Q3 (31.0% higher than last year)
– Bell Wireless client base reached 7,125,266 at the end of Q3, up 6.2% compared to last year.
– Bell Wireless operating revenues increased by 8.1% to $1,274 million this quarter.
– Service revenues up 9.8% to $1,160 million due to subscriber growth & data revenue growth of 39%.
– Product revenues decreased by 2.8% to $103 million due to competitive pricing on handsets.
– Blended ARPU increased by $1.41 to $53.54
– Postpaid ARPU increased by $0.95 to $65.04
– Prepaid ARPU increased by $0.49 to $18.85
