Rogers discount brand called Chatr Wireless launched on July 28th with 4 devices a couple plans ($43 & $45 per month). Today they have come out with the first promo and slashed all the prices of their handsets. Until September 30th Chatr device are available for the following:
– The Nokia 1661 called “The essential” for $50 (was $60)
– The LG GB125R as “The flip” for $50 (was $75)
– The Samsung Gravity as “The QWERTY” for $110 (was $130)
– The Nokia 2680 as “The slider” for $80 (was $95)
No reason for the reduced pricing, could be a back-to-school promo or simply limited interest, but this seems to be the trend as Wind Mobile, Koodo and Public Mobile have recently done this.
Update: Apparently it’s an “End of Summer Handset Sale”.
