According to South Korea-based JoongAng Daily LG has become the world’s 3rd largest handset manufacturer in 2008 – they shipped 100 million mobile devices and passed both Motorola and Sony Ericsson in terms of sales.
The top 5 in 2008 went as follows: Nokia shipped 470 million, Samsung sold 200 million units, LG shipped 100 million, Motorola somehow had 99.9 million devices shipped and Sony Ericsson had 96.6 million devices sold.
