Bell will launch new Premium Ultra Plus and Basic pricing tiers in Quebec as of May 10th, 2018, according to internal documents obtained by MobileSyrup.

Quebec sales representatives have confirmed that the Premium Ultra Plus plans are now live in the province.

It’s currently unclear whether both or either new tier will make it other regions across Bell’s footprint.

The new Premium Ultra Plus share plans are as follows:

Premium Ultra Plus Unlimited Canada Share

  • Two-year
  • $80 monthly (before data add-on — minimum 8GB for main lines, 6GB for additional lines)
  • Unlimited Canada-wide calling
  • Unlimited Canada text
  • Call display, message centre, call waiting, conference calling

Premium Ultra Plus Unlimited Canada/U.S. Share

  • Two-year
  • $90 monthly (before data add-on — minimum 8GB for main lines, 6GB for additional lines)
  • Unlimited Canada and U.S. calling
  • Unlimited Canada and U.S. text
  • Access data in U.S.
  • Call display, message centre, call waiting and conference calling

The new Basic tier plans will lead to the expiry of the Basic Phone 56 plan in Quebec, which offered unlimited Canada-wide minutes and 2GB of data. Full details on the new options are as below:

Basic Unlimited Canada 45 Share

  • Two-year
  • $45 monthly (before data add-on)
  • Unlimited Canada-wide calling
  • Unlimited Canada-wide text
  • Call display, message centre, call waiting and conference calling

Basic Unlimited Canada and U.S. 55 Share

  • Two-year
  • $55 monthly (before data add-on)
  • Unlimited Canada-wide and U.S. calling
  • Unlimited Canada-wide and U.S. text
  • Call display, message centre, call waiting, conference calling

Additionally, Bell is changing up data allotments and pricing in Quebec, offering 2GB for a monthly rate of $5 and 3GB+3GB for $10 on BYOD plans only; 4GB+4GB for $17 on BYOD, Smartphone, Premium and Premium Plus; and 8GB for $28 and 8GB+10GB for $28 on Premium Ultra Plus.

The price of the data allotment selected by the consumer adds to the plan price to provide the full monthly total.

In a hardware pricing grid show in the documents, Bell stated that Premium Ultra Plus share plans will bring upfront prices for premium handsets with an outright cost of up to $756.99 to $0.

Previously, the highest tier available to customers in Quebec was the Premium Smartphone Plus plan, which begins at $70 for unlimited Canada-wide calling.

On this tier, the $1,349.99 iPhone X can be purchased for $399.99 on a two-year term. With this new tier, it will likely be less.

The new Basic tier is on the other end, designed for low-cost handsets on a two-year contract. The hardware pricing grid shows that the Basic plan brings devices of up to $300 outright to $0 down on a two-year contract.

Update 5/10/2018: Quebec sales representatives indicate the pricing for Canada-wide calling starts at $80, while Canada and U.S. calling starts at $90. The documents we received state $90 and $100 respectively, but this might apply to different regions. The story has been updated accordingly.
