Those who ordered the HTC 10 online at htc.com are being promised a “small token of appreciation” from the manufacturer within the next couple of weeks.
A Reddit user shared that they received the news via an email titled “Thank you for being our fan,” at 5:30pm EDT yesterday.
Guesses as to what the gift might be immediately came pouring in, with some users taking the opportunity to poke fun at the company after reports surfaced yesterday that HTC may be spinning off its VR branch in to a separate entity.

The 10 is priced at $999.00 on HTC’s Canadian website for an unlocked version. As for purchasing through Canadian carriers, the 10 is Bell-exclusive until July 1 and is currently available for $349.99 on contract and $899.99 sans term.
[Update: HTC has confirmed that this gift will also be coming to Canadian buyers.]
