Apple releases new Earth Day video featuring Liam and Siri

Earth Day falls on April 22nd this year, and everybody is getting on board and doing their part to make protect the Earth and minimize human impact on our world. At Apple’s iPhone SE and 9.7 inch iPad Pro launch event last month, the company showed off its recycling robot, Liam, as part of a whole set of environmentally conscious initiatives.

For Earth Day, Apple has released a second video featuring Liam and Siri, Apple’s voice assistant, disagreeing on the best way to participate in the occasion. Liam is a robot designed to quickly and efficiently take old iPhones apart, and though the iPhone in the video seems like it’s in pretty good shape, Liam makes short work of Siri (and the iPhone), despite her protestations.

This video comes at a time when Apple is working on all cylinders towards keeping its public perception high. The company is still battling several law enforcement agencies in the court of public opinion over encryption, so Apple has every reason to toot its own horn now, given its strong environmental record.
