Sonos speakers can now stream Apple Music’s catalogue

The streaming music industry has become increasingly competitive over the last couple of years, as a range of new services and wireless audio gear has hit the market.

Sonos, along with several other companies, manufacture a line of wireless speakers that stream audio directly from the internet, while being controlled by a smartphone app.

The benefit of these speaker systems is that music doesn’t have to be streamed through a smartphone – it comes straight from the Internet. While this is convenient in many cases, it also means the speakers are only able to play music from services that are integrated with the speakers. In the case of Sonos, the company has been working hard to add new popular streaming integrations to its devices.

Starting today, Apple Music is streamable through Sonos systems around the world. To get started, all users need to do is add Apple Music as a new Music Service from the app, and enter their login credentials.

Apple Music adds to the fast growing list of services compatible with Sonos’ systems, including Spotify, Google Play Music, Soundcloud and Tidal.
