Minuum teases iOS 8 keyboard, launches signup for early access

Whirlscape has been teasing us all summer, showing glimpses of how its award-winning Minuum keyboard would look on Google Glass, the Moto 360, and other, more squarish, Android Wear smartwatches.

But Minuum is also in a race with Swype, SwiftKey, and Fleksy to be one of the first 3rd party keyboards to launch on iOS 8 this fall. To that end, Whirlscape has dialled up the teasing to 11, tweeting out and animated GIF of Minuum running on iOS 8. Whirlscape says they have embraced the design philosophies of iOS for the release, which will feature two different modes: a mini mode, which features Minuum’s recognizable one-dimensional keyboard, and a full keyboard mode, to help teach new words to the app’s dictionary.

Whirlscape has also launched a sign up page for those interested, promising first-access to Minuum for iOS 8 once it’s available.
