Uber delivering ice cream today across select Canadian cities

In case you haven’t already figured it out, the ball of excitement in the pit of your stomach is classified as “that Friday feeling,” and it’s happening because the weekend is here. To make things that much more exciting, Uber is hoping to to make your last weekday even better with the addition of on-demand ice cream delivery.

The folks behind the popular taxi-hailing app are once again delivering ice cream to users, and this time the offer is open to users in 144 cities around the world (compared to the 33 cities Uber ice cream served last year). In Canada, Uber has quadrupled the number of cities served by Uber ice cream and will be delivering frozen treats to the residents of Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto.

Of course, you’ll need to sign up for Uber and download the app to get started, which is the whole point of these promotional events. Then you’ll want to find a few friends to help you to eat the ice cream. Uber will bring you enough ice cream for five people for $25.

ubericecreamcanadaIn Toronto, ice cream will be delivered by Car2Go vehicles to deliver Magnum-branded joy. Users will be able to request delivery between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. and the first delivery will be made to the Boys & Girls Club.

In Montreal, Uber is teaming up with Le Bilboquet and the first delivery is going to the Sainte-Justine Children Hospital. Again, ice cream delivery will be available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can expect your ice cream to come to you via Uber’s Brand Ambassadors’ cars.

Vancouver and Calgary are a bit different in that they’ll be using traditional ice cream trucks and will only be serving from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Calgary will also have one gelato truck in play. First delivery in Calgary is going to the Boys and Girls Club, too. Uber hasn’t detailed any first delivery for Vancouver, which means it could be you!
