TELUS has had the BlackBerry Torch 9860 “coming soon” for a few days now. Rogers started to sell RIM’s new all touchscreen device on August 23rd and Bell officially put this online yesterday. As we’ve stated before TELUS will have this available to customers on August 30th, but additional confirmation is always a good thing!
According to this new official launch doc the 30th is a solid date. The 9860 has BlackBerry 7 OS, 3.7-inch display, 1.2GHz processor and a 5-megapixel camera. We shot a quick overview a few weeks ago at the BlackBerry Fan night, check out the video here. In regards to price points, Rogers has this for $199.99 on a 3-year, but they also have a promo until the 30th that gives $100 off. Bell priced the 9860 at $129.95 on a 3-year, but TELUS will have the lowest 3-year price at a decent $99.99… the no-contract price will be $549.99.
