Public Mobile rolls out new, pricier plans post Boxing Week

The new plans might not be as good as Boxing Week deals, but $40/60GB CAN/US/MEX ain't bad either

Telus-owned Public Mobile has followed Freedom Mobile in ending Boxing Week deals and rolling out new wireless plans with higher prices and less data.

Public has been closely matching Freedom’s plans for months now, and its latest offers continue that trend. That means Public has some of the better wireless plans in Canada right now, even if the plans are pricier than they were a few days ago.

Here are the plans on offer:

  • $60/100GB 5G CAN/US/MEX.
  • $50/80GB 5G CAN/US/MEX (previously $50/150GB).
  • $40/60GB 5G CAN/US/MEX (previously $40/100GB).
  • $35/10GB 5G CAN/US/MEX (unchanged).
  • $30/8GB 5G Canada-wide (unchanged).
  • $25/4GB 4G Canada-wide (unchanged).
  • $20/1GB 4G Canada-wide (unchanged).
Public Mobile plans as of Jan. 13, 2026.

All the above plans include unlimited calling and texting in the respective coverage zones as well.

Overall, the new plans are about what you’d expect. They’re roughly in line with pre-Boxing Week prices, and close to Freedom’s offerings (give or take a few dollars).

As it stands, Public, Freedom, and Fizz are among the best value options for wireless service in Canada. To get similar plans from the Big Three right now, you’d be looking at $70+ per month, or more, depending on the features you want. My advice? Go with one of the value options and save yourself some money.
