Monthly subscribers will soon start to see the higher prices on their bills, while annual members have a few more weeks

Last month, Disney announced a Disney+ price increase for Canada and now, that time has come.

With this change, the price of Disney+ Standard is rising to $15.99/month (previously $12.99/month), while Premium will now cost $16.99/month (currently $15.99/month). Disney+ Standard with Ads remains unchanged at $8.99/month.

As previously confirmed, these new prices actually went into effect on September 30 for new monthly and annual subscribers. However, for those who are actively subscribed, November is when you’ll start to see those changes.

For anyone who’s on a monthly subscription, the new pricing will show up on your billing cycle on or after November 4. Those who subscribe annually, meanwhile, will be charged the higher costs in their billing cycle on or after November 25.

Disney first announced a Disney+ U.S. price increase at the end of September, with Canada, the U.K. and other markets now being affected as well. For context, the last Disney+ price increase in Canada happened last October and saw all three tiers increase by $1. This was the streamer’s second hike in 2024.

All of this comes as Disney has brought Hulu to its service worldwide, including in Canada. That said, this is only a rebrand of the previous Star branding that was used in international markets, and so the actual content, which includes titles like Only Murders in the Building and The Kardashians, remains the same.
