You could win $2,800 worth of Scene+ points for buying a 28 Years Later ticket

Cineplex is offering up a lot of loyalty program "bones" to celebrate the highly anticipated zombie movie's impending release

28 Years Later

Cineplex is running a special promotion to celebrate the highly anticipated June 20 release of 28 Years Later.

Between June 11 and 22, Scene+ members who purchase a ticket to the upcoming zombie film will automatically be entered into a contest offering up 280,000 Scene+ points. For context, that’s a $2,800 value. A random draw will be held on July 21 to determine the winner.

All in all, it’s a pretty decent offer for a movie many were likely going to see anyway. It should be noted that Scene+ is Cineplex’s free loyalty program, so you don’t need to have a $9.99/month CineClub membership to enter this contest. (That said, this membership does offer exclusive discounts on tickets and concessions while waiving the $1.50 online booking fee, whereas Scene+ only knocks it down to $1.)

28 Years Later is notable for several reasons. For one, it’s a reunion between director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland, the brains behind the cult classic 28 Days Later. It’s the first in a planned trilogy of films, with the second and third installments expected to bring back Oscar winner Cillian Murphy from 28 Days Later. (Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Ralph Fiennes star in Years Later.)

On top of all of that, 28 Years Later is the most expensive movie ever shot on iPhone. In a recent behind-the-scenes look at the film, Boyle showed off a special rig of 20 iPhone 15 Pro Max devices, and it looks pretty wild.
