PlayStation 4 and Xbox One controller support coming to iPhone, Apple TV

Apple has partnered with Sony and Microsoft to bring support for the PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4 controller and the Xbox One controller to Apple TV and iPhone.

Apple didn’t mention a specific rollout date for the new controller support, but it says it will come sometime before Apple Arcade launches this fall as part of tvOS 13 and iOS 13.

Apple Arcade is the tech giant’s mobile gaming subscription service that gives unlimited access to more than 100 titles across iOS, tvOS and macOS. Specific pricing and launch timing has not yet been revealed.

However, being able to use the PS4 and Xbox One controllers on Apple devices is a major change for the company, which has typically only offered support for a number of lesser-known third-party gamepads.
