eBay has announced a new feature that creates a customized store based on which products users say they’re interested in through a questionnaire.
With ‘Interests,’ eBay says it can help users more thoroughly go through the billion product listings it has on its site.
“Yoga isn’t just about fitness mats and leggings — it’s about woven blankets, meditation and aromatherapy — things that wouldn’t conventionally fall into the category of “Sports & Fitness,” eBay cited as an example of how Interests works.
eBay says the system uses algorithms and the company’s own wealth of data to build the personalized experience.
The ‘Interests’ feature is now available in the U.S., with a rollout to other countries set for “coming months.”
