Online retail giant Amazon is teasing the release of a new Fire TV device called the ‘Cube.’
The company has been making a renewed push into the TV market recently through a recent partnership with Best Buy and now a new TV device of some sort.
You could argue that the current boxy look of the Amazon Fire TV is already a cube-shaped rectangular prism, so it will be interesting to see how Amazon iterates on this design.
There’s significant speculation that the Cube is the name of a Fire TV device that was leaked by AFTV News back in the fall of 2017. Users have a lot of faith that the Cube from that image is set to be an Echo device combined with a Fire TV. Since the regular Fire TV from this leak turned out to be real, there’s a good chance this is the Fire TV Cube.
So far there is no word about when the Cube will be released, or if it will even make its way to Canada. Users can sign up on Amazon.com to be notified when more information about the device is released. Only Amazon’s lowest-end Fire TV Stick Basic Edition is currently available in Canada.
If other Amazon Echo devices are any indication, the device will launch in the U.S. and come to Canada shortly after. When MobileSyrup reached out to Amazon, the retail giant said that it currently has no comment.
