Quebec-based carrier Videotron has confirmed to MobileSyrup that the Huawei P10 Lite will be hitting its shelves along with the Huawei P10 on June 7th.
The Huawei P10 Lite is a pared-down version of Huawei’s pair of P10 and P10 Plus flagships. The P10 Lite has a 1920 x 1080p 5.2-inch FHD LCD screen, putting it between the P10’s 5.1-inch display and the P10 Plus’ 5.5-inch display.
Instead of a HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset, the device has an octa-core Kirin 658 chipset, backed by 3GB of RAM — less than the 4GB of RAM both the P10 and P10 Plus feature. As for internal storage, it stocks 32GB of ROM like the P10.
The camera, one of the most highly-touted elements of the P10 and P10 Plus, is much less extravagant in the P10 Lite. Instead of a low-light-focused dual camera setup, the phone has only one 12-megapixel rear shooter with a 1/2.8 inch sensor. The front-facing camera, meanwhile, comes in at 8-megapixels.
The device comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and is stocked with a 3,000mAh battery. It also looks slightly different than its more high-end siblings, with its fingerprint sensor mounted on the back.
The Huawei P10 Lite is also available unlocked and online-only through Best Buy Canada for $399.95 CAD in black. We’ll have Videotron pricing information when the device launches tomorrow.
The Huawei P10 is also available at Videotron, with Rogers and Bell also stocking the handset. Additionally, Rogers is stocking the P10 Plus. See more on Canadian availability of Huawei’s latest flagship line here.
