Fans of Starbucks and its beverages will be happy to know that they can cut the line starting today, as Mobile Order and Pay is now available at 300 Toronto locations. The feature is currently exclusive to iOS users but Starbucks says it will eventually come to Android.
In conjunction with the roll out, the Starbucks app has been updated to version 3.3.2, activating the Mobile Order and Pay option.
Select Starbucks stores that enabled the Mobile Order and Pay feature are located in Toronto, Markham, Scarborough, Richmond Hill, Unionville, Vaughn, Etobicoke, Aurora, and Thornhill. Additional Starbucks across Canada will go live in 2016 with the Mobile Order and Pay option.
Specific revenue generated at Canadian Starbucks was not disclosed but the company noted that mobile payments now represent 18 percent of all in store transactions in Canada. In addition, over 1 million Canadians are active My Starbucks Rewards members.
