Instagram update lets users access Stories from Explore tab

The latest in a long stream of updates to everyone’s favourite photography app includes suggesting videos to its users in the Explore tab.

Instagram Stories, the feature touted for its similarities to the popular real-time photography app Snapchat, has only been around since this past August. In that time, Instagram Stories has amassed over 100 million daily users.

Facebook has been consistently updating the feature as well, adding little things like the ability to include colourful text and one-finger zoom.

Stories will now be available from the Explore tab — the place where users can view content that’s tailored to their interests from people they aren’t yet following. Essentially, this makes it a lot easier for users to view stories from people they don’t yet know, but might potentially find interesting.

The company posted the following to its official blog.

“More than 100 million people visit Explore every day to discover photos and videos from people they don’t yet follow. The new suggested stories section highlights the most interesting stories from across Instagram’s vast global community — and like the rest of Explore, the stories you’ll see are personalized to your interests.”
