The Legend of Zelda is getting a special edition Nintendo Switch 2

It releases one week before the Ocarina of Time remake alongside a matching Pro Controller and carrying case

Nintendo has unveiled a special edition Nintendo Switch 2 console inspired by The Legend of Zelda series.

As revealed during Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, the system features green Joy-Cons with the 40th anniversary logo of classic sprite Link holding the Triforce. The Switch 2 dock, meanwhile, sports a black-and-gold Triforce pattern.

The Zelda console drops on October 29 but doesn’t include the Ocarina of Time remake that releases the following week on November 5. On October 29, Nintendo will also begin selling a Switch 2 Pro Controller and carrying case that match the new console. MobileSyrup has reached out to Nintendo of Canada for official Canadian pricing for all these products and will update this story once a response has been received.

During the Direct, Nintendo revealed extensive footage from the remake, which looks incredibly faithful to the original 1998 classic while adding significant visual upgrades. Notably, this is the first of two Nintendo presentations this week, with the second, a general Direct, taking place tomorrow, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. ET.
