Bell is continuing to expand its wireless network capacity with new sites in Toronto.
The new wireless site located in Roncesvalles Village is now live, bringing additional network capacity and improved performance, especially during high-demand periods.
In an email to MobileSyrup, a Bell spokesperson said that the new site supports “more reliable connectivity for activities such as streaming, video calling, gaming and everyday mobile use.”
The Roncesvalles site comes as part of Bell’s ongoing expansion program, which aims ot boost performance and capacity in communities with growing wireless demand. In Toronto, Bell says adding more infrastructure will help reduce pressure on other wireless sites and improve the overall network performance in surrounding areas.
Bell’s expansion program will see the carrier add new wireless sites in some areas to improve coverage and fill gaps. Further, Bell will enhance existing sites to boost performance with 5G upgrades. The program will also feature network modernization efforts to make wireless more reliable and reduce congestion.
The program started in 2024 and, as of May of this year, has seen Bell add 167 new wireless sites in 76 communities across the country, as well as enhance 349 existing sites in 50 communities. Bell says its workers have spent a combined 600,000 labour hours planning and installing upgrades and towers.
