We hope for Canadians too

Googlebook pre-orders start next week

Google’s website now shows that Googlebook devices are available for pre-order starting September 21. It’s unclear whether it’s a specific manufacturer that’s launching a Googlebook next week, or if this includes the entire first wave of brands, which includes Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo.

It’s also unclear when shipping will begin after the pre-orders start. The Googlebook website doesn’t mention if this applies to any countries specifically, so we’re hoping this is available for Canadians too.

Googlebooks are made with Gemini Intelligence in mind; Google says these are the “best of Gemini meets our most advanced laptops.” There are new features like Magic Pointer, which lets you select anything to ask, compare or create with Gemini. You can create your own custom widgets by just asking, like a widget for your upcoming trip with a countdown clock.

Google says Googlebooks is also the best partner for Android devices, letting you cast apps on your laptop without installing them. And accessing files from your phone live on the laptop.

The Mountain View tech giant announced Googlebooks back in May.
