Intel to raise CPU prices by 10% next month: report

This follows a similar hike earlier this year

Intel is set to increase CPU prices by 10 per cent in October, according to Digitimes

Per the Taiwanese publication, Intel is opting to increase profitability for its PC CPU business instead of keeping prices lower to expand its market share. Notably, this would follow a similar price hike in Q1 this year.

At the same time, the site says Intel may cut between five and ten per cent of its staff to reduce costs. This comes after the company cut 15,000 jobs in 2024 and reduced its workforce by an additional 15 per cent in 2025.

Finally, Digitimes reports that Intel might wind down its Small Core line, although that would primarily impact businesses rather than customers.

Naturally, this comes as many companies are raising prices in response to the global component crisis, which is being heavily driven by demand for AI.
