A major Steam leak appears to have revealed spoilers for a variety of upcoming games.
Earlier this week, Exophase, a video game achievement tracking site, posted Steam achievements from dozens of upcoming games. On ResetEra, site owner Mike Bendel says it “seems like a possible screw-up on Valve’s end” regarding “achievements that should be private are accessible through the API right now.”
Notably, some of the leaked games, like Kingdom Hearts IV and Persona 6, are still a ways off, while others haven’t even been announced. Achievements for impending releases like Silent Hill: Townfall, Control Resonant and Final Fantasy Resonance were also listed.
*Light spoilers below*
In particular, the achievements list seems to confirm several unannounced Disney worlds for Kingdom Hearts IV and some plot details from Persona 6, the latter of which we still don’t know anything about. The leak also includes a follow-up to Balatro (from Saskatchewan’s Localthunk), a new Candy Crush, Judas (the long-gestating new game from BioShock creator Ken Levine) and even, surprisingly, a Twin Peaks game, among others.
For those who are spoiler conscious, we won’t reveal specifics here — there’s a big Reddit thread doing exactly that if you want to learn more. But suffice it to say, tread carefully if you’re excited for any of these games, especially Kingdom Hearts IV. (There’s some especially big Disney world spoilers there.)
All in all, it’s a pretty substantial leak, especially considering that we knew little to nothing about several of these games. It remains to be seen what else may come out of this.
