iOS 27, watchOS 27 and more available later today

Apple’s latest suite of OS upgrades launch today in Canada. This includes iOS, iPadOS, macOS, visionOS, watchOS and tvOS 27, which should be hitting your devices around 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.

Here’s a brief overview of what you can expect from these upgrades.

iOS 27

iOS 27 will be available on the iPhone SE and iPhone 11 series and later devices. iOS 27 updates include design refinements, faster performance, smoother network transitions, an optimized CPU scheduler, dual capture in FaceTime, more child safety features, and more.

While iOS 27 is exciting, most people will be thrilled by Siri AI, which is first rolling out in English. This gives your devices a better assistant, introduces the Siri app, and you’re better able to customize how Siri sounds.

Siri AI isn’t available on the same devices as iOS 27; however, and will only make it to the iPhone 15 series and later.

macOS 27

macOS 27 Golden Gate is only available on devices with Apple Silicon and includes the Mac mini 2020 and later, iMac 2021 and later, MacBook Pro 2020 and later, MacBook Air 2020 and later, Mac Pro 2023, and the MacBook Neo.

Golden Gate comes with ultrawide display support, add an event to your calendar with a description, improved iCloud Shared Albums, improved monitoring for your kids, and better Spotlight search suggestions

Apple Intelligence, on the other hand, is coming to Mac Pro M2 Ultra, Mac Studio M1 Max and later, Mac mini, iMac, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air M1 and later and MacBook Neo with its A18 Pro.

iPadOS 27

iPadOS 27 includes faster message synchronization, design refinements, faster performance, edge-to-edge sidebars, menu bar changes, resize iPhone apps, and Enhanced Flyover in Maps.

iPadOS 27 is avaialble in iPad mini 6th generation and A17 Pro, iPad 9th gen and A16 and later, iPad Air 4th gen, M2 and later, iPad Pro 4th gen, M1 and later.

The iPad Pro M1 and later, iPad Air M1 and later, and iPad mini A17 Pro can get the Apple Intelligence update.

watchOS 27

watchOS 27 comes with a new tap gesture, Smart Stack suggestions, more intuitive Find My and design refinements.

watchOS 27 is compatible with Watch Ultra 2 and later, Watch Series 9 and newer and Watch SE 3.

visionOS 27

visionOS 27 lets you expand notifications with your eyes, offers a new look for Control Center, new curved windows, and Safari works smarter for you.

All Apple Vision Pro devices can get visionOS 27, but only the second-gen will get the Apple Intelligence update.

tvOS 27

tvOS 27 comes with support for 4K camera recordings in Apple Home, up to 30 per cent faster app launches, a redesigned Podcasts app, improved game controller settings, faster AirPlay connections and more.

tvOS 27 is available for Apple TV 4K 2nd gen and 3rd gen.
