Rogers is calling some former customers with special wireless plan deals.
I received one such call from Rogers, in which the representative offered me two plans, one with Fido and one with Rogers. The Fido plan was $25/mo for 40GB of 4G LTE data, while the Rogers plan was $35 for 100GB of 5G data and Canada/U.S. usage.
Both of those deals are pretty good, especially when you consider what each provider has available to new customers. Fido’s current plans include a $44/60GB plan and a $54/80GB plan (including autopay discounts). Meanwhile, Rogers has $65/125GB 5G Canada-wide and a $75/200GB 5G Canada/U.S. plans (including autopay discounts).
When I asked the rep how long the prices last, she claimed the discounts were permanent and would not expire, and even said it was a “lifetime” price that would not go up. (For what it’s worth, I don’t believe for a second the price will never go up, but if the discount on these plans truly doesn’t expire, then it’s an even better deal.)
Unfortunately, you’ll need to wait for a call from Rogers to get these offers. I was a Fido customer back in 2023 and previously I’ve had Rogers home internet. I’m not sure if the latter is a factor, but I haven’t had mobile service with Rogers in over a decade.
Anyway, if you’ve been a Rogers or Fido customer in the last few years, keep an eye out for a phone call from the company. Maybe you’ll get lucky and score a sweet wireless offer.
