Microsoft this week announced a slew of updates for its suite of OneNote mobile apps.
To start, Microsoft has merged OneNote for iPhone and OneNote for iPad into one universal app named OneNote.
iPad owners will be prompted to download the new version of the app from the App Store. iPhone users, on the other hand, can simply update their current app.
As a result of the merger, the iPad version of the app now has access to several features that were previously only available on the iPhone. For instance, the iPad version of the app can now add a widget to the Today notification pane. Microsoft has also brought over the “recent notes” view and the ability to preview pages while the iPad is in landscape mode. Lastly, a bug that made the document and whiteboard capture feature un-useable has been fixed.
Not to leave fans of Google’s mobile operating system out of the mix, Microsoft has also updated the Android version of OneNote. It’s now possible to copy pages between different notebooks. To copy a page, press and hold on the one that it is you want to copy. Once a dialogue box appears, tap on either the copy or move option and then select a destination.
Microsoft says a larger update that will add Android Wear functionality to the app is on the way.
