Google starts to release Android 5.1.1 factory images

Starting with the Nexus Player, Google has begun rolling out factory images for Android 5.1.1.

No word yet on what kind of changes this update bring with it. However, based on the small jump in version number, bug fixes and performance improvements are likely the name of the game. Hopefully that incessant memory leak from earlier versions of Android 5.0 have been fixed up.

The update is currently only available through Google’s website, though an over the air rollout is likely forthcoming.

We will update this post once we know the contents of the update, and once it is available on more devices.
