Amazon-owned Twitch.tv has become the latest high profile tech service to suffer a data breach.
According to an email the video game streaming service sent to its users last night, a whole host of sensitive information may have been accessed by an outside party.
“We are writing to let you know that there may have been unauthorized access to some of your Twitch user account information, including possibly your Twitch username and associated email address, your password (which was cryptographically protected), the last IP address you logged in from, and any of the following if you provided it to us: first and last name, phone number, address, and date of birth,” says the email the company sent.
The company says it has reset the passwords of all its users. It’s also asking that users to log into their account and create a new, unique password as soon as possible. Anyone that uses their Twitch password to access another website or service is being advised to also change that password.
Twitch was acquired by Amazon for $970 million last September. In 2013, the company said it had more than 45-million unique users.
