Amazon Canada brings same-day delivery to shoppers in Toronto and Vancouver

As the holiday season approaches, Amazon is hoping to help out Canadians weighed down by the prospect of holiday shopping. The company this week announced that Canadians living in Toronto or Vancouver now have the option of same-day delivery on their orders.

Orders must be placed before noon but will arrive before 9pm that same day even if you’re ordering on a weekend. The downside is that not all items are eligible for same day shipping. Amazon says Canadians will be able to pick up electronics accessories (cables, speakers) game consoles and accessories, newly released games and movies, household necessities, snacks, and travel items.

Torontonians will have a bit more selection when it comes to same-day shipping. Vancouverites will still have “hundreds of thousands” of eligible items available to them, but Amazon says living in Toronto will have over a eligible million items to choose from.

Pricing for Amazon Prime customers is a flat $6.99 no matter how many items you have in your cart. If you’re not a Prime subscriber, there’s a cost of $11.99 on top of a $1.99 charge per item.
