Today at the Snapdragon Summit, which Qualcomm flew me out to, Motorola unveiled the first handset with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 mobile platform: the Signature 27. Firstly, we’re waiting to hear if the Signature 27 is coming to Canada, but the Motorola press release says it’s a North American release, so I wouldn’t be shocked if it shows up in the North.
Last year’s Motorola Signature wasn’t available in Canada, but we’ll keep our hopes up. Considering the jump from 2025’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, this handset is definitely getting a bump in performance compared to its predecessor. Motorola has also announced that it’s partnered with Bang & Olufsen to power the device’s sound.
The Signature 27 features a Motorola ArcticMesh cooling system, which uses a new diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, copper mesh and a redesigned 3D vapour chamber to help with heating during sustained use.
Additionally, you’ll get a 50MP Sony Lytia 910 primary shooter and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens. And the device has Motorola’s Video Enhancement Engine, which uses AI to create a real-time intelligence layer that adjusts colour tones by analyzing the scene during and even before recording.
Of course, since it’s Motorola, the company has launched the device in two Pantone finishes: Coal Smoke, with a woven texture for better grip strength and durability. And Pantone Capulet Green with a brushed look that looks incredibly nice.
