SaskTel has sweetened their pot today and announced that they’ve axed all data roaming charges in Canada, which actually is a giant step for the regional carriers – potentially no more nasty bills.
In a press release today they noted that “Effective today, SaskTel will be eliminating all data roaming charges in Canada. In addition, the out-of-province speed threshold will be increased from 200 MB to 10 GB per billing cycle to align with the in-province speed threshold.” If by chance you do find yourself going over the allotted data, the overage rate range from 3¢ to 5¢ per MB.
Next week is also an important week for SaskTel as on September 28th they’ll be launching the iPhone 5. No word yet on their prices, but it’ll be the same as the other Canadian carriers.
