At Google I/O 2026, the Alphabet-owned company introduced Gemini Omni: “Gemini’s ability to reason meets the ability to create.” Omni is a new model that can create anything from any input, starting with videos. Omni combines images, audio, video and text as input and can generate high-quality videos.
The first model, Gemini Omni Flash, is rolling out today to the Gemini app, Google Flow and YouTube Shorts. Soon, Omni Flash will also support images and audio.
Google says that Gemini Omni offers an easier way to edit videos with natural language, and every new instruction builds on the last. “Your characters stay consistent, the physics hold up, and the scene remembers what came before.”

An example of Gemini Omni video generation.
Starting with a regular video, you can change specific things or change everything. You can add new characters or objects, change what happens in the video as well, change the environment, and the style, without actively changing the original scene.
The tech giant also says that Gemini Omni understands physics, history, science and cultural context. It understands gravity, kinetic energy, fluid dynamics and more.
Omni Flash is rolling out today to all Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers globally through the Gemini app and Google Flow. It’s also coming to the YouTube Shorts and YouTube Create app this week as well, for free.
