Diving into the PROLED MacBook and the $15M Rogers fine [SyrupCast]

We talk about everything from Apple this week and major telecom news

By Dean Daley

On this episode of the SyrupCast, EIC Jon Lamont and devices editor Dean Daley dive into the new MacBook Pro with a PROLED XDR display, along with some of the other new Apple hardware.

We talk about the PROLED XDR, its exuberant Canadian price tag, the light-up logo, and we wonder why bother with a touch screen after all these years. We also quickly go over all of the new Apple devices like the iPad mini, iMac M6 and MacBook Pro M6.

Later, they dive into the flurry of telecom news this week, which included news about a new hold time petition, the Canadian Government’s plan to increase telecom competition, Rogers shifting auto-pay to only Rogers’ credit card owners, and pre-authorized debit cards. Of course, they also touched on everything from the $15M Rogers fine for deceptive unlimited plans.
