How to Watch the 2026 Golden Globe Awards in Canada

The first award show of the year is here

The Bear Season 3

The first major award show of the year, the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, is here.

The 83rd Golden Globe Awards will take place on Jan. 11 at 8p.m. ET, live from Los Angeles, California. After a successful hosting job last year, Comedian Nikki Glaser (Fboy Island, The Roast of Tom Brady)  will once again host the awards ceremony.

As usual, the Golden Globes will be broadcast on Rogers’ CityTV network in Canada. For those who don’t have a cable subscription (or don’t want CityTV+), it will also be available to stream on Paramount+.

On that topic, you will need either a cable subscription (contact your internet provider to bundle your new cable and current internet subscriptions, or your TV provider for the CityTV channel), or pay for CityTV+. Currently, CityTV+ is $9.99/mo with a seven-day free trial, if you only want to use it for the awards show.

One small note, though, the free trial is only available once per calendar year, so use it wisely. You can also pay annually, which costs $99. If you did want to get your money’s worth, you can pay $31/mo to get both CityTV+ and Sportsnet+, which Rogers claims gives you two full subscriptions for one price.

For Paramount+, there are three tiers to choose from: Basic (with ads), Standard, and Premium. The Basic tier costs $7.99/mo, the Standard tier costs $11.99/mo, and the Premium tier is only a few dollars more at $15.99/mo.

This year, Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another scored the most nominations with nine, while Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value scored eight nominations.
