Netflix has announced a premiere date for Disenchantment, a new adult animated comedy fantasy series from writer and cartoonist Matt Groening, best-known for creating The Simpsons and Futurama.
The first ten episodes of the series will debut on August 17th.
The show will take place in the medieval kingdom of Dreamland and follows the life of princess Bean, her half-elf companion Elfo and her personal demon Luci. The series includes fantastical creatures like ogres, sprites, harpies, imps and trolls.
Netflix has already ordered 20 episodes for the series.
The series features voice talents such as Abbi Jacobson, Nat Faxon, Eric Andre, Billy West, John DiMaggio and David Herman.
The animation for the show is done by Rough Draft Studios, the same studio that helped Groening with Futurama. Groening and Josh Weinstein serve as executive producers for the series.
While you wait for Disenchantment, check out the shows and movies coming to Netflix Canada in June.
