Videotron has just given a facelift to the mobile app for its illico TV offerings, adding a swath of handy new features including the ability to use the app as a remote control, and customized search for content based on available viewing time.
Another important change is the inclusion of Club illico, the largest catalogue of on-demand content by subscription in Quebec and Ontario, which brings with it an expanded selection of French-language content.
The new app also fully controls the customer’s set top box, allowing for remote recording, and gives users the ability to cast a show from their device to the TV with one click.
Finally, taking a cue from over-the-top video platforms like Netflix, subscribers can create profiles for each household member, which will present content based on their particular settings and preferences.
The app is also available for Android and iOS, as well as Apple Watch.
