In an uncharacteristic turn, both the iPad Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil are displaying shipping availability of four to five weeks on the Canadian Apple Store.
The 32GB Wi-Fi iPad Pro is available for shipping in one business day and the 128GB Wi-Fi iPad Pro and 128GB Wi-Fi with cellular iPad Pro ships in two to four business days.
While accessory shortages are rarely an issue, especially when it comes to Apple products, the iPad Pro relies on the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard for much of its functionality. The new device is designed with the assumption that users will purchase both accessories.
Apple is selling Logitech’s CREATE iPad Pro keyboard both in-store and online, so those looking for an alternative keyboard for the iPad Pro do have other options available.
Apple released a statement to Mashable about Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil related shipping issues.
“Customers are very excited for iPad Pro, Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard. We have limited supply of Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard in Apple Retail stores. Our stores will continue to receive regular shipments and we encourage customers to visit Apple.com for online availability and delivery dates.”
