Twitter reportedly plans to undertake significant staff cuts next week, according to Recode.
Citing multiple unnamed sources, the publication says the company’s new CEO, Jack Dorsey, believes Twitter needs to become leaner and more efficient if it is to be successful. The layoffs will cut across the entirety of the company’s 4,200 strong workforce, but will be particularly felt within its engineering department.
It’s unclear if the restructuring will affect Twitter Canada. According to a Financial Post article published partway through last year, the company’s Toronto outpost is home to just over 30 employees.
