One of Motorola’s more unique ATAP projects during its time with Google was Spotlight Stories, an innovative 360-degree content-viewing experience that conspired, at first with a Moto X and later with a number of other Motorola devices, to create a VR-like experience with no additional hardware.
Once Google sold Motorola, it kept ATAP while jettisoning the rest of the hardware, and we didn’t hear much about Spotlight Stories until this past Google I/O, when it was opened up to the rest of the Android ecosystem.
Now, along with the four original stories, Google has expanded Spotlight Stories to iOS devices. The app provides access to Windy Day, Duet, Buggy Night and Help, all of which are short, effervescent experiences.
