SaskTel skips the latest BlackBerry 10 OS update, says “it will have a negative impact on the roaming capabilities”

Seems like there’s a kerfuffle brewing in Saskatchewan. While most Canadian carriers have pushed out the latest BlackBerry 10 update – version – SaskTel has decided to shun the idea of this needed update. According to a post on their community forum SaskTel says their decision to forgo the Z10 upgrade is because “it will have a negative impact on the roaming capabilities.”

No further details on what this roaming negativity is – perhaps dropped calls, signal loss – but SaskTel says they’re working with BlackBerry and will bring the next OS release sometime “late April.” Although SaskTel says v10.0.10.85 addressed “minor fixes,” it did bring a fix for the battery life, camera and browser improvements, plus performance improvements for 3rd party apps.
